Defiant Studios

Defiant Studios was an amazing experience. It was a company that I was part of molding from start to the end. I was the first developer that David Grijns and Roland Lesterlin hired at their startup. They knew me from our time together at Avalanche Studios and they gave me all the responsibility and opportunity that I ever asked for. I was involved in hiring every single developer in what would become a 35 developer studio, I created our production methodologies and processes, I wrote code when needed, I pitched games to publishers, managed budgets and led the team in their day-to-day work. It taught me a lot about how to create and run a games company.

Business is war and Defiant Studios unfortunately became a casualty in May 2019 when CI Games pulled the plug on Lords of the Fallen 2 which Defiant Studios had poured all resources into over the past year. I will save the full story for my memoirs or when the NDA has run out.
